Heres an article: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20060323.wduha23/TPStory/Sports/columnists
What do you guys think? I argee with the author of the article on pretty much all of his points. I really do think Ovy needs to get the message early that he needs to contribute more to the team than shooting the puck every single time he touches it. I admire him greatly, but I think he could contribute a much better all around game. |

I was dissappointed to see him benched but I understand why. I'm glad they've straightened it out with eachother and hope he starts to work a bit better with the team and listen to what the coach tells him...he is still an amazing player and the best rookie in years. |

| It can only make him good...I mean, look at how many times Kovalchuk was benched! |

I think it was a good thing that they benched him for that game but if I was him then I would be a little upset because it was kind of childish to bench her because he wasn't connecting well with the defense. _________________ I love Alexander Ovechkin and the Capitals |

What Ovechkin are you watching? What is really happening is that there is nobody to pass to! Mr. Ovechkin eventually has to take charge and score some goals instead of waiting for his teammates to catch up to him. Do remember one of the greatest players alive today that played in Washington that had to carry the team? Begins with a J and sounds like JAGR...instead of the team building upon Mr. Jagr, they wore him down, now look at Mr. Jagr this year. The Caps need to have 5 Jagrs and 5 Ovechkins enough said. PS I am not team specific, I just love the game of hockey and some of its talented players. _________________ "Fighting for your freedom" |

I agree that Alex needs to go up a go with the puck and take charge of the team but then he will be benched even more. This will happen because he isn't working well and letting the other people on the team have a chance to score. Alex can not do it alone so he has to pass with his team. _________________ I love Alexander Ovechkin and the Capitals |
